MLEC Conducts Pole Inspections
Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative will begin regularly scheduled electric pole inspections in Lewis and Humphreys counties in December. The project, intended to help increase service reliability for MLEC members, will likely continue until late January.
The Lewis County areas affected include Highway 412 East, Summertown Highway and 3rd Street.
In Humphreys County, pole inspection locations include the Town of Waverly, Highway 13 North, Cooley Street, Powers Boulevard and Highway 70 West.
Power Pole Maintenance Company, a contract company conducting the inspections for MLEC, will be in vehicles with an “MLEC Contractor” logo and carry identification cards. The evaluation typically takes a few minutes with some occasional photographs for documentation. The home or business owner does not need to be present. Also, as has been communicated previously, MLEC will never ask to enter the home.
“With almost daily news stories of scams and break-ins, we want our members to know we understand their questions and cautions when someone unfamiliar comes to their property,” says MLEC System Engineer Brent Warf. “We encourage everyone to contact MLEC whenever there is a question.”
