Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative crews worked through the night on power restoration after severe storms ripped through its five-county service area yesterday afternoon. An estimated 300 remain without power across our five counties.

June 28 Outage Update #2

(June 28, 2018 – 9:30 p.m. – Centerville, TN) - Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative crews continue restoration efforts at this hour. An estimated 800 remain without power tonight. The majority of these are in the hardest hit areas of Hickman and Humphreys counties.

Power Outages - June 28

(June 28, 2018 4:30 p.m. – Centerville, TN) - This afternoon’s thunderstorms left severe damage and widespread power outages before moving out of the MLEC service territory. Approximately 1500 are without power at this time. The affected areas are widespread and scattered across our five counties. Additional linemen from Kentucky are on their way to provide assistance.

Broadband Update

(June 8, 2018Centerville, Tennessee) — Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative prides itself on providing safe, affordable, reliable electricity and meeting member needs. In efforts to further this initiative, MLEC is growing its existing fiber network to improve our electric system operability and reliability.

McEwen Planned Outage Postponed

The scheduled service interruption for the McEwen area of Humphreys County, set for June 2/3 at 11:50 p.m., has been postponed. A new date has not been determined but will be shared when available. If you have questions, contact MLEC in Waverly at 931.296.2581. Thank you.

Qualifying Deadline

(June 1, 2018) —  Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative bylaws require that qualified members wishing to run for the cooperative board of directors in October file a Declaration of Candidacy and Statement of Qualifications form by close of business on July 16, 2018.  

National Electrical Safety Month

(May 8, 2018) — May is National Electrical Safety Month, and Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative is joining with the Electrical Safety Foundation International to raise awareness about potential home electrical hazards and the importance of electrical safety.

Power Outage for New Johnsonville - April 23

(April 16, 2018 – Centerville, TN) – The New Johnsonville area of Humphreys County will be without power from 11:50 p.m. on Monday, April 23 until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 (approximately 4 hours) while the Tennessee Valley Authority conducts required maintenance. Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative crews will also be working.
